SEO is a huge in its nature. It stands for Search Engine Optimization. In order to classify SEO, we can catagorize it in two types: One White Hat SEO and another Black Hat SEO.

White Hat SEO:-

White Hat SEO is not other than recommendation tips of search engines. It means it is the techniques which are recommended by the search engines. White Hat SEO follows the following terms and conditions:


  1. It follows the guidelines of search engines.
  2. White hat conforms the web pages quality if the html and css are validated in w3 org or not.
  3. Quality and user friendly contents.
  4. If it excludes frauds and other scams.
  5. Content should be same that the search engines index and the users see.

As it is thought white is always good in various term, so as white hat SEO has more advantages than black hat SEO.

  1. Since webpages are indexed for long time, it follows terms and conditions of search engines.
  2. White hat SEO includes quality and user friendly content, so it increases new visitors and makes them reappears.
  3. More chances of appearing in the first page of search engines. 
  4. More referral sites can be increased. 
  5. Low floating of visitors. 

Disadvantages also may have in White Hat SEO. The main disadvantages of white hat seo can be the lower unrelated visitors.

Black Hat SEO:-

Black Hat SEO is out activities that are disallowed by the terms and conditions of Search engines.
It is just opposite of the white hat SEO. Black Hat SEO is also known as spam indexing. Any times this kind of indexed sites can be penalized by Search engine. Spam indexing follows these points:

  1. Redirection of users from the other pages. This is done by link building.
  2. Fake activities to increase the ranking in search engines.
  3. Indexing one page in search engine and displaying another page to users. It is a fake indexing. This is also known as cloaking tactic of SEO.
  4. Hiding the text or making them invisible. Using too small font size.
  5. Few contents in the web page but too many keywords within that page, high density in a page. These kinds of pages are known as Gateway Pages.
  6. Keywords repetition is high and long Meta tags with non-related keywords in a page which is known as Meta tag stuffing.
  7. Two or more websites having same contents using different URLs. 
  8. Copying the content of other websites which is indexed as spam by search engine. This is also known as page hijacking. 

Black Hat SEO has more disadvantages than advantages. Opposite of all the advantages of White hat is the disadvantages of Black Hat SEO.

  1. Webpages are not indexed for long time, so it does not follow terms and conditions of search engines.
  2. White hat SEO doesn’t include quality and user friendly content, so it cannot increase new visitors and make them reappears.
  3. Less chances of appearing in the first page of search engines. 
  4. More referral sites can be increased but less related visitors appear in the site. 
  5. Higher chances of floating of visitors.
